Our Story

The Art of Education was born from a simple idea: what if tutoring could be done better?

Back in 2013, Lekhika Chaudhary—then a student juggling sixth form and a part-time tutoring job—began to notice the cracks. The sessions felt transactional, the connection with students was missing, and the focus was more on ticking boxes than building understanding. Determined to do things differently, she teamed up with her mum, and together, they opened the doors to The Art of Education in November 2016.

Lekhika brought her drive, legal background, and firsthand tutoring experience. Her mum, Jaswinder Kaur, brought the heart. A former headteacher who, along with Avtar Chaudhary, ran a school in Punjab in the early 2000s, she had always been deeply connected to teaching. After moving to the UK, she dedicated herself to helping adults—especially Hindi and Punjabi speakers—learn English, empowering them with language and confidence.

With a background in law and a head for management, Avtar ensures every part of the centre runs like clockwork. A registered lawyer in India and now a legal advisor in the UK, he supports the centre through his sharp business mind and unwavering belief in education as a force for good.

And then there’s Vedanti Chaudhary, our creative force. A tutor herself, she also happens to be the mind behind our branding—designing everything from our logo to our leaflets. If you ask us, every education venture needs a Creative Director who gets both design and the classroom.

Together, the four of them form the foundation of The Art of Education—each bringing a unique skill set, but all sharing one purpose: to create a space where students feel seen, supported, and capable of more than they imagined.
